Join acclaimed sculptor Littleton Alston for a special evening in Gering celebrating the installation of his bronze sculpture honoring Willa Cather at the corner of the Gering Public Library on May 19.

Following the installation, Alston will present a talk at Emporium Bean & Bottle at 5:30 p.m., sharing the symbolism, inspiration, and historical significance behind his prototype for the larger Willa Cather sculpture placed in National Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol. Guests will enjoy complimentary root beer floats while hearing firsthand about the artistic process and the story behind this meaningful public artwork.
